An Embedded Systems Remote Course

Abstract

This paper presents an embedded systems course offered remotely to undergraduate students of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR), Cornélio Procópio campus, during COVID-19 pandemic. The course allowed undergraduate students of control and automation and computer and electronic engineering to explore the use of the real time operation system in microcontrolled systems using different free software, including one that emulates the development kit used in practical lab classes. Student feedback and course evaluation are along presented, with reflections on the differences between in-class and remote modes.
